| "one of these days, i will write a book...and it will be entitled -- CALL CENTER", my Supervisor (Team Lead) Mike @ my previous job used to say, whenever we walked home together and swapped our day's stories and events. During that time, i had just come out of a bad marriage, or so i thought... and it seemed that any marriage within the vicinity of the NCR is on the verge of failing, which @ that time was really quite amusing for me... So, there i was, thinking, "How could HE, come up with an idea before i even did? i'm the aspiring novelist here. He was my mentor, who eventually became my tormentor (had to say that, didn't i?)... Well, that was 4 years ago... i had moved on and moved out of outbound months after the bright ideas have bounced back and forth bars, hole in the walls and rental computers... i spent an approximately 8 blissful/ melancholic months in sales, and was given a customer service associate position @ the same company, same account as i had... and had taken the post gleefully... what started as a girl-friday thingie had become my life... i moved up and gained new responsibilities - did mostly sup-calls inbound and outbound until i decided to move as far away as possible from ortigas to gain amnesia... Amnesia because, there were about a handful of things i wanted to filter out and forget, jumped back into married life, scarred but still whole... that was basically it... 2 years into just plain inbound customer service, then on to RESQ, and i had an epiphany... (waited for the right moment to inject that word in, hmmm) well, if Mike can write a book and name it CALL CENTER... i will have mine... it will be interesting, with lots of references to beer-buzz in the morning, temporary daywalkers, the graveyard, invalid supcalls, 4x10, reso trackers, wrap-ups, irate customers, complaints, mood swings, pms, tapa king, St. Peter's, love lives and broken hearts, music, an extension of netopia, current trends, couple swaps, attrition countdowns, the state of our inbound queue, multiply accounts, yahoo beta, proxy servers, dress-downs, sodexho, internal job postings, manager calls, friends, half-truths, affairs, human vampires, orlando (the firewall), and what have you... it will be colourful, exciting and in a way, melancholic & sad... it will be entitled - AVAIL... ... if only i can get it started... =p |
